ENCOUNTER FINDINGS & DOCUMENTATION
U.S. WAR DEPARTMENT – BUREAU OF ANOMALOUS RECONNAISSANCE
File Designation: CRM-9089-███
Clearance Level: █████
Date Logged: November 3, 1908
Location of Initial Encounter: Grand Canyon Ravine Sector ████, Arizona Territory
SUMMARY
On October ██, 1908, civilian explorer and journalist Herbert Van-Himbles arrived at Fort SR Milton Earther with an unidentified male entity recovered from a cave system below the Grand Canyon. Van-Himbles claimed the individual was discovered in a dormant state exhibiting non-human physiological resistance and a persistent luminescent aura.
Upon arrival, military personnel noted the subject displayed no visible injury despite reports of a direct revolver discharge to the cranial region at close range. The projectile was recovered intact from the subject’s lap.
The subject was immediately transferred to Containment Wing ███, and Fort SR Milton Earther was placed under temporary lockdown.
Herbert Van-Himbles was detained for debriefing.
INITIAL OBSERVATIONS
Subject regained consciousness ██ minutes after arrival
No sign of distress, confusion, or pain
Did not speak verbally
Sustained uninterrupted eye contact with observing personnel for extended durations (up to ███ minutes)
Multiple staff members later reported:
Auditory hallucinations (low-frequency humming)
Sudden memory lapses
Severe anxiety accompanied by the sensation of “being watched from behind the eyes”
CONTAINMENT & TESTING DIRECTIVE
By order of ██████ █████, the subject was classified as:
“A NON-HUMAN BIOLOGICAL ASSET OF STRATEGIC INTEREST.”
The subject was placed under indefinite containment for physiological, neurological, and behavioral testing.
Control methods authorized included:
Chemical sedation (ineffective beyond ███ seconds)
Electrical restraint (no measurable response)
Sensory deprivation (subject remained alert)
Psychological stimulus exposure (results ongoing)
Despite all efforts, the subject has never resisted, retaliated, or attempted escape.
This compliance is considered more alarming than hostility.
STATUS OF HERBERT VAN-HIMBLES
Van-Himbles underwent three (3) debriefing sessions.
During the final session, he reportedly stated:
“It wasn’t asleep. It was waiting. And now it knows where it is.”
On November ██, 1908, Van-Himbles was reassigned to Project ███████.
No further records exist of:
His release
His reassignment
His death
All personal effects were confiscated. His sketches were sealed under Archive ████-██.
Herbert Van-Himbles was never seen again.
