ITEM DESIGNATION: CRM-1118

Codename: "Dawst Cat"

Division: Docile

Weight: 4.13kg (in solid state)

Origin: Arkhangelsk, Russia

Precautionary Containment Procedures

CRM - 1118 is to be housed within a climate-controlled containment chamber measuring 3 m x 10 m x 3 m, maintained at standard room temperature. Enrichment items such as soft bedding, fabric toys, and scratching posts may be rotated weekly to reduce stress and maintain subject comfort.

Personnel interacting with CRM - 1118 must approach calmly and avoid sudden movements or loud noises. In the event CRM - 1118 becomes agitated, staff are to gently withdraw and allow the subject time to self-soothe. Chamber ventilation is to remain active at all times to ensure safe air quality in case of particulate release.

Following any episode, cleanup crews equipped with Class-C respiratory filtration gear are required. Chamber sanitation requires a minimum of 48 hours to ensure complete removal of hazardous residue.

Description

CRM - 1118 is a small quadruped closely resembling a domestic cat (Felis catus), weighing 4.13 kg in its solid state. Behaviorally, it demonstrates signs of intelligence and emotional range comparable to that of humans, including curiosity, cautiousness, and the ability to bond with caregivers.

When calm, CRM - 1118’s presence has been observed to generate a mild euphoria in nearby individuals, reducing stress and anxiety levels measurably. Staff report feelings of comfort and calm after interacting with the subject.

When startled or distressed, CRM - 1118 releases a cloud of particulate matter resembling dust, ash, and soft soot. Unlike initial assumptions, this byproduct is not caustic or lethal, though prolonged exposure may cause mild respiratory irritation. Residue cleanup typically requires 24 - 48 hours, and the entity generally resumes docile behavior once left alone.

Discovery

CRM - 1118 was first encountered in Arkhangelsk, Russia, where it was observed sitting near a larch tree in temperatures of -87.2°C (-124.96°F). Despite conditions fatal to most animals, CRM - 1118 appeared calm and unbothered, pawing at frozen wood.

Recovery agents noted an immediate sense of calm during approach. Following containment, the subject displayed no aggression and adapted readily to its new environment, preferring warm spaces and soft fabric.

Addendum 1118 - A

CRM - 1118 does not appear to require food for sustenance but accepts small offerings (warm milk, fish, or soft meats) when in a calm mood. Residue left behind after feeding contains trace amounts of crystalline ash, harmless and easily collected.
